LAHORE (Staff Report) – As many as eight more death row prisoners were hanged in different jails of Punjab on Tuesday.
As per details, two murder convicts were executed in Faisalabad’s Central jail. Younis was convicted of murdering three people including a woman in 2000 while Allah Ditta was handed down death penalty after being proven guilty in the murder case of a woman in 1999.
Other convicts were executed in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Lahore.
Hangings of three more convicts were halted at the eleventh hour as two of them were pardoned by the families of the victims while another got relief due to a stay order issued by the High Court.
