‘What an experience’: Top German envoy just milked a buffalo in Pakistan

LAHORE – German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler, who recently caught the world’s eye by dining in at a biryani joint in Lahore, has won the countrymen’s hearts once again.

At the request of one of his followers on social media, the German envoy paid a visit to a farmhouse in Punjab, where he milked a buffalo.

Mr. Kobler also shared a video of himself milking the buffalo on Twitter, which earned him huge praise from his followers.

Thanking the host family, the ambassador said he greatly enjoyed the village life.

There were also a few who tried to relate it with the ruling elite and bureacrats, as in Pakistan every individual lies somewhere along the political spectrum.

Earlier this week, Kobler had visited Punjab’s capital and stopped at an ordinary food shop for a plate of chicken biryani – one of South Asian region’s favourite food.

The ambassador shared the experience on his Twitter stating, “had lunch in a small restaurant in #Lahore. big plate of chicken biryani for 100pkr is a great price. and it was very tasty as well!”.

The 70-year-old ambassador’s activities in Pakistan are most definitely warming the hearts of Pakistanis, who have craved for calm and normalcy for almost half a decade.

Kobler, after his appointment to Pakistan, has been to different parts of the country where he mingled with locals, visited local eateries, stopped to buy things from food vendors and traveled in a train.
