Indian fishermen chant ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans after being rescued by Navy

KARACHI – A dozen Indian fishermen, who were stranded in the Arabian Sea for eight days, have been rescued by Pakistan Navy on Sunday.

According to the navy spokesperson, the Indian boat ‘ST Mars’ got stranded with engine failure with 12 fishermen on board.

The fishermen sent calls for help, following which teams of the navy reached out to them on humanitarian grounds.

They were rescued by the PNS Alamgir and were also provided edibles and medical treatments, the spokesman said, adding that the PNS technical team also repaired the boat’s engine.

The Indian fisherman thanked the Pakistan Navy and chanted “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans.

The navy said in a statement that the country’s naval forces are determined to ensure welfare of humanity and that such a gesture only solidifies Pakistan’s stance for maintenance of peace in the region.
