Traffic comes to halt after oil tankers gets stuck in Waris Mir underpass

LAHORE – An oil tanker got stuck while passing through Waris Mir Underpass on Saturday evening, causing traffic mess at Canal Road and adjoining roads.

Rescue 1122, traffic and district administration reached the spot and started an operation to remove the tanker.

In a similar incident, an oil tanker of a private company, carrying 50,000-litre petrol, got stuck while trying to use the underpass near the Punjab University last April.

The tanker driver had ignored the signboard warning about the height limit and tried to pass through the underpass. But the vehicle got stuck. The driver tried to reverse the tanker but failed to do so and it damaged and oil started spilling on the road.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
