Google celebrates Pakistan s Independence Day with special doodle

ISLAMABAD – Search engine Google is celebrating the 72nd Independence Day of Pakistan by creating a doodle on the occasion.

This is not the first time the Google has paid tribute to Pakistan on its auspicious moments. Last year also, it also released a doodle celebrating the birth of the country.

In the past, The Google doodle has also honoured legendary musician Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi and Shehenshah-e Ghazl Mehdi Hassan on their birthdays.

The nation today is celebrating 72nd Independence Day with renewed resolve to work with the spirit of Pakistan Movement to make the country a truly Islamic welfare state.

The day  dawned with thirty-one gun salute in the federal and twenty-one gun salute at the provincial capitals. Prayers will be offered for security and progress of Pakistan and wellbeing of the people.

A change of guard ceremony was held at the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi and Iqbal’s mausoleum in Lahore, where cadets of Pakistan Navy took charge of their duties.

Special prayers were offered in mosques with the start of the day for peace, solidarity, and prosperity of the country, besides praying for the early resolution of the Kashmir issue.
