KHANEWAL – In a shocking incident of ignorance, a man murdered three members of his family, including his wife and two children, on the advice of his “spiritual healer” in Kabirwala tehsil.
The incident happened on Monday in Mahni Sial village where Shaukat Ali slit the throat of his wife, and then killed his nine-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter when they were sleeping in their home. However, another son of the accused, aged 11, fled the scene after he woke up due to noise.
Police have arrested Shaukat and recovered the weapon used for killing.
According to security officials, the suspect visited a spiritual healer Jabir Shah in Multan, seeking a solution to the problems he was facing. In response, Shah told him that his wife and daughter were allegedly involved in immoral activities and he should kill them.
Shaukat, during interrogation, also revealed that he killed his family members for the sake of honour on the order of the faith healer.
The Saddar police have registered a case against the suspect and further investigation is underway.
