ISLAMABAD – Today is the last date for declaration of Assets under Assets Declaration Scheme through a Presidential Ordinance, the Radio Pakistan reported.
In a clarification statement, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) said that it also include the condition of retaining cash, foreign currency and liquid assets not repatriated.
It said all such declarant’s are required to retain cash in their bank accounts till today.
Earlier, Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh had urged overseas Pakistanis to benefit from the scheme.
The federal government had introduced the Asset Declaration Scheme 2019 in May.
FBR chairman said that more than 95,000 people have registered their undeclared assets by availing the Asset Declaration Scheme.
Zaidi hoped that the Scheme would be successful, adding the deadline for the scheme would not be extended further.
He said that documenting the national economy was the top priority of the government.
The FBR chairman said that the FBR had already obtained data of properties and assets of people and that was also put on TBR web portal, which could be accessed by any interested person Replying to a question, regarding reforms in FBR.
