How many Pakistanis are stranded in Saudi Arabia without pay? The answer will shock you

RIYADH – Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Manzoorul Haq, has confirmed that around 8,000 Pakistani workers are currently stranded in Saudi Arabia without being paid their salaries.

In a statement issued to media, the Ambassador said that Pakistani officials in Saudi Arabia are in contact with Saudi counterparts on this issue and efforts are underway to resolve the crisis.

He said that Saudi authorities have been informed about the plight of Pakistani workers in the Kingdom who don’t even have an airfare to return to their homeland.

Haq went on to say that the current situation had originally started from a crisis at the Bin Laden Construction Company and eventually some 8,000 Pakistanis are facing financial challenges in Saudi Arabia.

He said that the Saudi officials have assured him of the earliest resolution regarding the dire situation.
