LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid) leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Monday reached the office of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Lahore for investigations in assets beyond means cases.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned both PML-Q bigwigs on November 6 in cases, which have been reopened after 12 years, regarding possessing assets more than known sources of income. The investigations had been started against them before the tenure of General (retd) Pervez Musharraf with whom they had joined hands by leaving the PML-N.
Shujaat became prime minister for a short time in 2004 while his cousin, Elahi, rule over Punjab as chief minister during 2002 to 2007.
The NAB has also summoned Hasnain Dar and Ali Dar, sons of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, to record their replies regarding ongoing prove against Dar regarding owning assets beyond means today.
According to NAB’s allegations against Dar, “the accused has acquired assets and pecuniary interests / resources in his own name and / or in the name of his dependants of an approximate amount of Rs831.678 million (approx).”
