PTI is Pakistan’s richest political party, owns assets of Rs316.6 million: ECP

Lahore – The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been declared as the richest political party in the country.

According to documents revealed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), PTI owns assets worth Rs316.6 million. The assets of PTI increased by Rs220 million in one year.

Imran Khan’s certificate states that the PTI did not receive any funding from any banned outlet. The PTI got Rs65.8 million from Overseas Pakistanis. It got Rs49.2 million from Pakistanis residing in Britain alone.

The PTI showed six bank accounts to the ECP.

The Pakistan Mulsim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stands as the second richest party, owning assets worth Rs253.377 million. The PML-N’s assets increased by Rs20 million in a year. The PML-N distributed tickets of Rs 119.7 million in the general elections.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) stands as third, having assets worth Rs167 million.

Furthermore, Jamaat-e-Islami owns assets worth Rs106.3 million.

According to the ECP, Sheikh Rasheed’s Awami Muslim League (AML) is the poorest party having assets of Rs13.8 million only.
