PESHAWAR – The University of Science and Technology Abbottabad (USTA) has donated Rs1.2 million for Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund.
USTA Vice Chancellor Iftikhar Ahmad handed over the cheque to Chief Minister Mahmood Khan at CM Secretariat on Wednesday.
The CM thanked the vice-chancellor, students and other staff of the university and termed it a great step. “Such social work and acts show patriotism of great nations,” he said, adding that water conservation is very necessary for meeting the future challenge of water scarcity.
“Our aim is to save the present water resources and to explore new water resources and that will be our collective responsibility.”

The fund established for the collection of donations for the Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams hit the Rs9 billion mark last week.
According to the details available on the official website, Rs 9,118,579,877 have been collected as of today.
Meanwhile, the work on Mohmand Dam is expected to begin this month after all the legal, financial and technical snags were removed.
