Why there’s terrible traffic jam in Karachi today?

Karachi faces severe traffic chaos due to recent protests in the port city over water and electricity issues.

The traffic started as residents of Punjab Colony staged protests over extended water and electricity shortages, causing major traffic disruptions throughout the city.

Residents of several localities obstructed key roads in the area, leading to severe traffic congestion and delays for those traveling to work.

These demonstrations caused massive traffic jams on Mai Kolachi Road, Boat Basin, Teen Talwar, and Do Talwar, with long vehicle queues spotted in the country’s largest city. Traffic police urged masses to seek alternative routes to avoid these congested areas.

Besides Punjab colony, residents of the Railway Colony near II Chundrigar Road and Shaheen Complex are also protesting due to ongoing power outages.

In response, traffic has been redirected from Khajoor Chowk to Aiwan-e-Sadar Road, from MR Kayani Chowk to SM Law College and Jang Press, and from Tower to Shaheen Chowk via SM Law College and Jang Press.
