Earthquake hits Islamabad, Lahore, parts of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – A strong earthquake jolted Islamabad, Lahore and several cities of Pakistan on Wednesday with people coming out of their houses and offices out of fear.

Tremors were felt Mianwali, Bhakkar, Multan, Khanewal, Chiniot, Kamalia, Talagang, Rawalpindi and other cities.

No damages or causalities have been reported so  far.

The National Seismological Center data shows that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 10 kilometers underground. The epicenter was the Near Dera Ghazi Khan (Shadi wala), Punjab.

Earlier this week, a mild earthquake hit Swat, Mingora and other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Monday.

According to the National Seismological Center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 115 kilometers underground. The epicenter was the Hindu Kush mountain range.
