KARACHI – Pakistan freelancers have been hit by Payoneer’s new fee structure, as the money transfer service raised transaction fees for users in Pakistan.
The hike in the new fee structure is likely to impact local freelancers who depend on the platform. Starting mid-October, the fee for transactions will rise to 3pc of the total amount, with an added fixed fee of $0.49 for transactions in US dollars.
For transactions in other currencies, the fixed fee will be adjusted as follows: 0.39 GBP, 0.45 EUR, 0.75 AUD, 0.67 CAD, and 73.76 JPY.
This fee change will apply to payments made or received via debit or credit cards, including those made through the Request a Payment or Initiate a Payment options.
The company said this fee adjustment is part of their regular review process to stay aligned with market changes. They emphasised that while fee increases are necessary, their commitment to supporting business growth remains a top priority.
Updated fees will be visible on the Fee page in account settings after the change takes effect, with existing additional fees remaining unchanged.
