Punjab ends Rs14 per unit relief for Islamabad electricity consumers

LAHORE – The Punjab government has ended the relief of Rs14 per unit for electricity consumers in Islamabad.

From September, Islamabad residents will no longer benefit from the Rs14 per unit relief previously provided by the Punjab government.

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has confirmed that residents will not receive this relief in their September bills.

The relief, announced by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for August and September, had initially been extended to Islamabad consumers.

However, many areas within the Islamabad Circle, which are not located in Punjab, will not receive this relief due to their geographical location.

The Punjab government has officially ended the Rs14 per unit relief for Islamabad consumers, and it will no longer be available in September.

This has also been confirmed by a notification from NEPRA, which stated that electricity consumers in Islamabad will not benefit from this relief in September.

IESCO has indicated that relief will not be applied to September bills, and orders have been issued to update the billing software accordingly.
