Asif Zardari to contest 2018 elections from Nawabshah; announces to join Qadri s protest campaign

NAWABSHAH – Pakistan People’s Party co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari on Friday announced his decision to contest the upcoming general elections from Nawabshah district of Sindh, where his party holds the government.

At a meeting at People’s Secretariat, the former president asked the party workers to expedite the election campaign so that the PPP could work further on making Sindh a model province after re-elected in this year’s general elections.

Zardari reiterated PPP’s promise on providing employment opportunities, saying jobs will be given on merit and that Sindh will have the highest rate of employment.

Meanwhile, according to media reports, the PPP leader confirmed that his party will be attending Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Tahirul Qadri’s anti-government protest in Lahore.

On Thursday, Imran Khan announced the “tigers” of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will join Qadri in the rally on January 17.
