PSL8 kicks off with star-studded opening ceremony, fireworks in Multan

MULTAN – The eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL8) kicked off with glitz and fireworks at the Multan Cricket Stadium Monday evening.

The ceremony was attended by a huge number cricket fans while watched on TV screens from across the country. The colourful event began with a soulful rendition of the National Anthem by Aima Baig.

Following his performance, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi addressed the opening ceremony. He vowed that the matches of the tournament would take place in Quetta and Peshawar in upcoming editions.

Aima Baig and Sahir Ali Bagga also enthralled fans with their powerful performance. After that the three lead singers of the official PSL 8 anthem charged the fans. The ceremony was wrapped up with a outstanding display of fireworks. 

The opening match will be played between the Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars. After Multan, Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi will host the 34-match tournament. This time Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, and Multan Sultans are said to be the favorites with top players. Qalandars, Kings are also powered by noted international stars.
