SSP Rao Anwar escapes attack; four assailants killed

KARACHI (Web Desk) – At least four terrorists were killed by police, when they attempted to target the convoy of SSP Rao Anwar in Karachi on Saturday.

Initial reports revealed that Rao Anwar and his convoy left his house in Malir and were on their way to the High Court when a few suspicious persons tried to attack the vehicle.

Police officials confronted the assailants, resulting in crossfire between the two sides. Four attackers were killed by the police.

The identities of the assailants are yet to be ascertained; however, investigation is under way.

This is not the first time SSP Rao has been attacked. In April 2012, when he was making his way to the Malir court, a suicide bomber hit his car. The attack left five people dead and injured 18 others, however the police officer remained unharmed.
