President Alvi arrives in Quetta for day-long visit

QUETTA – President Arif Alvi has arrived in Quetta on Wednesday for a day-long visit to oversee the current political situation.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Jam Kamal and the provincial ministers received President Alvi at Quetta Airport and accorded a warm welcome.

He was accompanied by Governor Balochistan Amanullah Khan Yasinzai, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar, Federal Minister for Railway Sheikh Rasheed.

During the day-long huddle, the president will attend the provincial cabinet session and address members of the House.

He will also address the overall situation of the province in a meeting with members of the parliament.

The head of the state will meet Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan in the provincial capital.

Moreover, Governor Balochistan Justice (r) Amanullah Yasinzai called on the president and briefed him on matters of national security.

The president expressed the provision of basic facilities of health, education and clean drinking water for the people of Balochistan was among the top priorities of the government.

On the occasion, President Alvi also offered condolences to Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri over the demise of his mother.
