Relief For Punjab Residents As Govt Reverses Increase In Court Fees

LAHORE – The government of Punjab reversed increase in court fees, passing on relief to lawyers and residents.

A fresh notification was issued, notifying reduction in court fee from Rs500 to Rs10, and it received approval from the provincial governor.

Earlier, the provincial government implemented massive increase in court fees and stamp duties across Punjab. The increase had resulted in fees for various court-related activities skyrocketing by 500pc to 1000pc.

The cost for civil and criminal court tickets was raised from Rs2 to Rs500, and transferring cases had also been raised from Rs5 to Rs500. In previous development. fee for requesting court records and filing a memorandum of appeal, claim cost Rs500.

Civil and criminal lawyers faced massive significant increase in their ticket costs, from Rs2 to Rs100, with other ticket prices escalating from Rs5-15 to Rs500.
