DERA ISMAIL KHAN – The spokesperson of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan Asad Mansoor surrendered to security forces here on Monday.
According to the officials, Mansoor who was affiliated with Jamaat ul Ahrar, the splinter group of TTP, surrendered before the law enforcement agencies in Dera Ismail Khan, some three weeks ago.
The details of his surrender are shrouded but officials said that it was “the result of much hard work”.
According to Express News, Mansoor was hiding in Afghanistan, however, he entered Pakistan and is now under investigation.
It bears mentioning that in April, last year, the key commander of JuA Ehsanullah Ehsan also turned himself in to security forces.

“Ehsanullah Ehsan is in our custody,” Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said during a press briefing then.
“There can be the no bigger achievement for Pakistan than the fact that our biggest enemies are now turning themselves in,” Gen Ghafoor said.
However, Asad Mansoor in a statement categorically denied his surrender news and said that the Pakistani media was running a fake news as I did not surrender to the security forces.
