Biased accountability vindicates victimization against Nawaz Sharif, says Maryam Nawaz

ISLAMABAD – Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former Premier Nawaz Sharif decried the verdict handed down by the top court regarding the disqualification cases lodged against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and Secretary General Jahangir Tareen.

Soon after the apex court gave a clean chit to PTI chief Imran Khan and sealed Tareen’s political career for life, Maryam took to Twitter and expressed that the verdict endorsed the suspicions that Nawaz Sharif was victimized and was served an unjust verdict.

She continued that the real target of sit-ins, conspiracies or any victimization in the name of accountability was Nawaz Sharif as he was the sole representative of the masses.

In another tweet, the apparent political heir of Nawaz Sharif quoted the Supreme Court’s judgment and wondered why a member of three-judge bench was ‘clarifying the difference between Panama Papers case and Imran Khan’s case’.

The apex court disqualified Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary General Jahangir Tareen for life on multiple charges relating to offshore firm and London property and declared Chairman Imran Khan qualified to be a lawmaker on petitions filed by PML-N leader Haneef Abbasi.
