Maryam Ki Masihaai Punjab Launches Free Heart Surgery Initiative For Children

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched an initiative to provide free treatment and surgeries for children with heart conditions.

The initiative named “Maryam Ki Masihaai,” aims to provide medical facilities to over 5,000 children each year.

The chief minister inaugurated the program and distributed ‘Child Surgery Cards’ among the patients. If there is no availability in government hospitals, the surgery will be conducted in private hospitals.

In the first phase, heart surgery services for children will be provided at six government hospitals and selected private hospitals.

These include the PIC and Children’s Hospital in Lahore, Children’s and PIC hospitals in Multan, Cardiology Institutes in Faisalabad and Rawalpindi.

In the second phase, hospitals in Wazirabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, and Sargodha will also offer children’s heart surgery services for free.

An online dashboard will be set up for monitoring the “Children’s Heart Surgery Program”.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed happiness at launching the project, stating that she has launched the initiative not just as a chief minister but as a mother.

He said the initiative purely aimed at to alleviating the suffering of young patients.

This will be the first treatment facility of its kind in Pakistan, and it will also treat children from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other provinces.
