PESHAWAR – Authorities have decided to suspend the mobile phone services in some areas of Peshawar on September 22 when the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) is scheduled.
The Peshawar commissioner said mobile phone services will be unavailable near all examination centres across the city for four hours.
He said a letter has been sent to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in this regard, adding that the decision aimed at curbing cheating and other illegal activities during the test.
The commissioner said jammers will be installed in and outside the examination halls to stop the mobile phone signals.
He added that Section 144 has also been imposed to bar common citizens from standing near the centres
He said SP security has been asked to devise a plan for deployment of male and female cops for security of examination staff and aspirants.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the MDCAT 2024 will be conducted by Khyber Medical University, Peshawar. Various centres will be established across the city to hold the test.
