KARACHI (Web Desk) – At a moment when renowned scholar and TV anchor Dr Amir Liaqat Hussain has announced to dissociate himself from Jang & Geo Group in protest against the December 16 transmission of Geo News in which the news anchors wore uniforms of Army Public School (APS), a news website Wajood has revealed the actual reason behind his resignation as President Geo Entertainment.
The sources said that Dr Amir Liaqat decided to part his ways with the media group after Imran Aslam, an old official of Jang & Geo Group, rejoined the organisation as Group President to lead all entities including Geo Entertainment. Aslam’s had raised questions on Doctor’s future in the group so he resigned.
“Amir Liaqat said in a post that he was resigning protesting against Geo News’ transmission which apparently had nothing to do with his position in Geo Entertainment,” the sources said.
It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that Imran Aslam was holding key position in Jang & Geo Group when the Geo Entertainment was launched however he left the group due to unknown reasons afterwards.
