Pleasant weather as parts of country receive rain

LAHORE – Rain-thundershower occurred at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper and central Punjab, Northeast Balochistan, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan during the last twelve hours (Sunday night and Monday morning).

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, D.I. Khan received 53 millimetre rain, Okara- 50 mm, Mianwali 29 mm and Faisalabad 22 millimetre.

Meanwhile, rain-thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls is expected at a number of places in Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Lahore divisions), Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at scattered places in Multan, D.G. Khan, Bahawalpur Malakand, Hazara, D.I. Khan divisions), upper FATA during the next twelve hours.

The heavy downpour may generate flash flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas of Northeast Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Temperature of some major cities recorded on Monday morning:

Islamabad: 25 degrees centigrade, Lahore: 27, Karachi: 28, Peshawar: 29, Quetta: 24, Gilgit: 19, Murree: 20 and Muzaffarabad: 21.
