ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources has issued a notice deregulating the pricing of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Sindh.
According to the notice, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) that was previously responsible to set CNG prices, will no longer have that authority.
After the decision, owners of CNG stations are now free to set prices and profits at their own discretion. The Ministry of Petroleum will make the necessary amendments to the Ogra Ordinance to implement its decision.
The ministry retains control over the pricing of petrol and all matters pertaining to taxation.
