LAHORE – A petition has been filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking a ban on talk shows related to the Panama case.
Amjad Farooq, the petitioner filed the application through advocate AK Dogar in LHC on Friday while taking the plea that according to law and the Constitution any opinion could not be expressed on a sub judice case in the court.
Expressing any opinion on a sub judice case is tantamount to contempt of court or influencing the court’s verdict.
The petitioner further stated that talk shows on the Panama case are being conducted on a daily basis for the past 8 months and anchor persons are playing the role of judges.
The petitioner prayed to the court that it should issue orders for ensuring implementation of PEMRA rules.-Online
