Late Pakistani Artist Mansoor Rahis Wife Files Case Against Son For Stealing Painting

ISLAMABAD – Late Pakistani artist Mansoor Rahi’s widow lodged a case against son Danish Rahi for stealing paintings of her husband.

The case was registered at the Shalimar police station nearly eight months after the incident. Danish and his friends have been booked under Section 389 of the PPC.

The complainant said her son and his six friends visited their house in Sector F-11 in January this year when they cunningly stole 70 to 80 paints of her husband from the basement of the house.

The incident left Masnoor Rahid deeply shocked as paintings worth approximately Rs1 billion were stolen by his son. The FIR stated that the couple made efforts to recover the paintings but they could not do so.

Upset over the incident, Mansoor Rahid died on May 12. Mrs Rahi said she could not lodge a complaint for months due as she was also deeply shocked over the death of her husband.

She said now she wanted to initiate legal proceeding against her son to recover the paintings.
