PARACHINAR: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Parachinar on Sunday, after the area was hit a deadly blast, claiming 25 lives and injuring over 65 on Saturday.
According to the ISPR, COAS General Qamar Bajwa also paid a visit to the injured of the blast at Agency Headquarters Hospital, in addition to condoling the families of the deceased.
Upon the arrival of the army chief, strict security measures were implemented. The COAS was also briefed about the current situation of the area.
Assistant Political Agent Shahid Ali Khan also confirmed that the political administration of the agency had arrested seven suspects during a search operation after the blast.
On Saturday, at least 25 people were killed while 65 others were left injured in a blast in Kurram Agency’s Parachinar area.
According to reports, scores of people were gathered at Sabzi Mandi inside Eidgah market when the blast occurred at around 08.50 A.M.
