Lieutenant General Muhammed Asim Malik, HI (M) has been appointed as the new Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence.
Details shared by local media said Lt. Malik will take charge of his duties on Monday, September 30.
The seasoned officer is currently serving as Adjutant General in the Army General Headquarters. The new spymaster holds vast experience as he commanded infantry division in Balochistan and and infantry brigade in Waziristan. Impressively, Lt Gen Asim Malik is also recipient of the Sword of honour.
He will replace Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum who got one year extension by Pakistan’s former caretaker government last year.
Lt General Nadeem Anjum has been serving as the DG ISI since 2021 and was given a one-year extension in 2023.
