SRINAGAR – A complete shutdown is being observed in occupied Kashmir today (Sunday) against the banning of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) by the Indian government.
According to the Kashmir Media Service (KMS), call for the shutdown has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership.
The Indian government banned the JKLF led by illegally detained Muhammad Yasin Malik yesterday for its pro-freedom activities.

All shops and other business establishments are closed in Srinagar and other big and small cities of the valley while the traffic is off the road.
Yasin Malik is presently lodged at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu under a draconian law, Public Safety Act.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have also strongly denounced ban on Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front led by illegally detained Muhammad Yasin Malik.
In a statement in Srinagar, Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said such anti-Kashmir tactics will neither change the reality of Kashmir dispute nor the urgency to resolve it.
In a statement, spokesperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat said the Indian government is using its military might with a sole aim to crush the pious and legal movement.
