Raza Rabbani shows apprehensions over teaming up of Indo-Pak spy chiefs for sensational book
ISLAMABAD -The former chairman Senate Raza Rabbani raised the issue of the book jointly written by former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief retired Lt. General Asad Durrani and former Indian spy A S Dulat in the Upper Chamber of the Parliament.

Speaking on the floor of the House on Friday, Rabbani questioned that whether a former spy chief can write a book with Indian spy or not, adding that Did General Durrani take permission from the government or his institution before authoring such a book.

“If a politician had done the same thing he would have been labelled a traitor,” asserted the Senator.

"It was surprising to see that on one hand Pak-Indo relations are turbulent and on the other hand a book co-authored by former spymasters of is taking place," observed the politician.

After Rabbani's outburst, Senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to submit its report on the book.

Gen Durrani and former chief of Indian Raw A S Dulat have jointly authored the book “The Spy Chronicles:  RAW, ISI and the Illusion of Peace,” which will soon be launched.

It is the first-ever effort by two former chiefs of rival spy agencies to jointly write a book having a plethora of sensational disclosures about the security discourse of South-Asia and other issues of prominence.

Earlier, in a separate statement outside the accountability court, the former premier Nawaz Sharif expressed that an emergency meeting of National Security Committee (NSC) should be summoned over the book written by the ex-spy chief.
