ISLAMABAD – After attracting a large number of people across the country, the Azadi train, which Sunday concluded its countrywide journey at Golra railway station Islamabad.
The train had started its tour from Margalla Railway Station Islamabad on August 11. I covered some 4,000 kilometres in the month-long journey, making limited time stays at dozens of railway stations.
The train consists of coaches representing the culture of Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, as well as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
It depicted the country’s fight against terrorism and extremism to eliminate this scrounges from the society. The train also highlighted sacrifices of heroes of the independence movement.
There were also portraits of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, national heroes and the pictures about the country’s history and development.
