SWABI – A powerful explosion occurred inside a police station in the Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the building collapsing.
According to media reports, the blast happened in the storeroom of the Swabi City police station, killing one passerby and injuring 33 others, including on-duty personnel.
The district police officer stated that the nature of the explosion is being determined, and the building has suffered damage. Following the incident, rescue volunteers and fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene, and security has been placed on high alert.
Rescue volunteers at the scene began relief efforts, transferring the injured to the hospital, while a bomb disposal squad has also been called in.
Sources indicate that explosive material recovered from terrorists in the building’s storeroom detonated due to a short circuit, leading to multiple explosions.
