Pti Jui F Join Hands For Constitutional Amendment

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Jamiat Ulema Islam Fazl (JUI-F) on Thursday decided to jointly draft a constitutional amendment.

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman met a PTI delegation, which included Salman Akram Raja, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, and Akhunzada Hussain.

JUI-F’s legal team head Senator Kamran Murtaza and Mufti Abrar, along with other JUI-F leaders, were also present at the meeting.

Details of the meeting have emerged, revealing discussions on the proposed constitutional amendment draft, parliamentary collaboration, and the Practice and Procedure Ordinance.

According to sources, both parties have agreed to prepare a joint draft for the constitutional amendment.

Speaking to the media afterward, Salman Akram Raja said, “We had a very positive meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rehman. We came to inquire about his well-being. Rumors are circulating that Maulana has sided with the government, but he has thwarted the government’s attempt to violate the Constitution.”

Salman Akram Raja further claimed that Maulana will not take any actions that history would condemn, emphasizing that Maulana Fazlur Rehman stands with them.

JUI-F Senator Kamran Murtaza mentioned, “The draft for the constitutional amendment is yet to be prepared. We remain part of the opposition, but if there is better legislation for society, we are willing to work with the government.”
