Judiciary won t dare put hands on dictators, says Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE – Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif attacked the judiciary once again on Tuesday stating that the politicians were an easy target, as the judiciary won’t dare put their hands on the dictators.

Addressing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’ Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Lahore, the deposed premier declared that he couldn’t accept the verdicts of the judiciary.

The former PML-N president stated that taking oath as a Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO) judge was the ‘biggest crime’.

He slammed the judicial bigwigs, without naming anyone, that they keep taking PCO oaths and defend dictators.

“How the judiciary could think that the common man would accept its verdicts after it keeps taking oaths under PCO,” wondered the former premier.

The elder Sharif added that elected prime ministers haven’t been allowed to complete their tenure in the country’s history and the sanctity of vote has also desecrated.

The former legislator continued that the elected representatives worked hard for the betterment of the people, but anti-democratic forces create a crisis-like situation by sacking them.

“It has been more than six months, yet not even an iota of corruption evidence has been proved against me in the court but despite that, I was sent home packing by the judiciary,” asserted the PML-N ‘Quaid for Life’.

The ex-party chief said he was stripped of the party presidency, despite that it was the party workers’ right to elect whomever they see fit to lead their party.

The ruling PML-N elected Cheif Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif as acting president for 45 days, in line with the directives of the top court that barred Nawaz Sharif from steering the party.
