SRINAGAR – People in Occupied Kashmir offered funeral prayers in absentia for the two Pakistani soldiers who were martyred by unprovoked Indian firing across the Line of Control, local media reported on Thursday.
As per reports, an announcement was made through loudspeakers in Srinagar’s historic Jamia Masjid area asking people to assemble at Nowhatta for the funeral prayers, Geo reported.

A large number of people attended the funeral prayers for Naik Imtiaz and Hawaldar Jumma Khan, the two Pakistani soldiers who embraced martyrdom in cross-border firing, which India painted as a ‘surgical strike’.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two soldiers who lost their lives while defending the motherland included Havildar Jumma Khan and Naik Imtiaz who hailed from Astore and Faisalabad respectively.

“Naik Imtiaz who embraced Shahadat at LoC today hails from Faisalabad. He was married, has 3 daughters,” ISPR said in a press release.
