LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday announced that Punjab government will start motorcycle ambulance service in nine districts of the province from next month (October 2017).
The chief minister said this while inaugurating a three-day Pak Medica Medical, Health and Cosmetic Fair held in Expo Centre in the city.
He said people for the first time will get initial first aid in narrow streets where there is no access to ambulances. These motorcycle ambulances equipped with all essential medical accessories will be driven by very professional trained drivers. Turkish government has extended support in this regard.
He termed the exhibition as reflection of growing bilateral cooperation between Turkey and Pakistan.
Shahbaz Sharif said that they are thankful to Turksih president and prime minister for boosting bilateral cooperation in various fields particularly in health sector.
Rescue 1122 has recruited about 800 paramedical staff to start motorbike emergency services in Lahore, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sahiwal.
The congested areas with heavy traffic where it is difficult to reach in rush hours, motorcycles ambulance will give first aid to the injured people.
Earlier, the CM Punjab had approved the ‘Quick Response medical staff jobs’ in all big cities of the most populated province of the country.
