KARACHI – Ahead of the procession on Muharramul Harram 8, 9 and 10, security forces have chalked out plans to ensure security all over the country.
In Karachi, police and Rangers have finalised the security measures under which routes for main congregations will remain blocked.
The home ministry of Sindh has also imposed a ban on pillion riding for all three days in the city.
To monitor every movement of the main procession, which is held at Nishtar Park, the forces have divided the area into nine blocks.
M.A. Jinnah Road, a main route of the procession has been divided into 23 sub-blocks, while all entry points to the road will remain closed. All the participants will be allowed to enter after proper checking.
From Nishtar Park to M.A. Jinnah Road, heavily trained snipers and police officials will be deputed at the buildings, while the bomb disposal squad will give clearance before the start of the procession.
Emergency will remain open in six hospitals, including Jinnah Hospital and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, during these three days.
In Peshawar, the local administration has imposed a ban on pillion riding on Muharram 8,9 and 10 under section 144. Heavy contingent will be deployed for the processions.
