KARACHI – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight traveling from Muscat to Peshawar makes emergency landing in port city of Karachi due to technical issues shortly after takeoff.
Reports in local media said Flight PK 260 departed from Muscat and later experienced a hydraulic system malfunction approximately 30 minutes into the flight while flying over Pakistani airspace.
Airbus A320 descended rapidly from 36,000 feet to 8,000 feet in just seven minutes as the pilot declared an emergency.
PIA flight crew quickly altered their course toward Sindh capital, where the jet landed safely at Jinnah International Airport at around 7am in morning. Maintenance teams are currently inspecting the aircraft to assess the extent of the malfunction.
Luckily, no injuries or casualties were reported among passengers or crew during the incident, ensuring a safe conclusion to what could have been a critical situation.
