PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister Pervaz Khattak on Saturday said that it was Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) who was responsible for the mismanagement witnessed across the province during the daylong polling for local bodies elections.
“We put the whole administration at the disposal of ECP. Our job was to support and facilitate the Election Commission as per laws,” Khattak told reporters.
The election wasn’t conducted by the provincial government, he explained, adding that he could not interfere in ECP’s job.
The chief minister said that government would implement if ECP took any decision regarding complaints of rigging or barring women voters.
He, however, rejected reports that women were stopped from voting in Nowshehra.
“Women came out to vote in large numbers and it was ECP’s responsibility to facilitate them,” he said.
