LAHORE – Motorway, M-2, from Lahore to Sheikhupura, M-3 from Pindi Bhatian to Faisalabad, M-4 from Faisalabad to Gojra and M-4 Extension from Khanewal to Multan have been closed for traffic after thick fog hits parts of the Punjab Province on early Thursday morning.
According to the Motorway Police Spokesman, foggy conditions are also prevailing in plain areas of Punjab and Sindh including Mandi, Pattoki, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Habibabad, Akhtarabad, Renala Khurd, Okara, Sahiwal, Mian Channu, Khanewal, Basti Maluk, Lodhran, Bahawalpur and Ahmadpur Sharqia., and Rohri where visibility was reduced to 20-30 meters.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Metrological Department forecasted that mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country today (Thursday). However, light rain is expected at various areas in Malakand division and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the MET Department, foggy conditions are likely to prevail in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh at night and in the morning.

The Motorway police have appealed the drivers to use GT Road for travel. The Motorway police have also urged the drivers to drive slowly and switch on the fog lights. Commuters have been advised to avoid unnecessary travelling and contact Motorway helpline 130 to get updates about the foggy conditions.
