LAHORE – A Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench on Thursday extended interim bail of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz in assets beyond means, Saaf Pani and Ramzan Sugar Mills cases till May 8.
The bench comprising Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan and Justice Mirza Viqas Rauf heard pre-arrest bail petitions filed by the PML-N leader in the cases.
Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz appeared before the court for the hearing.
Strict security arrangements were made for the hearing.
The court after hearing arguments granted interim bail to the PML-N leader till May 8 and stopped the bureau from his arrest besides issuing a notice to the bureau for reply.
The LHC had earlier extended the interim bail of Hamza Shehbaz till April 25.
The LHC had also granted pre-arrest bail to Hamza Shehbaz for 10 days against Rs10 million surety bonds on a petition he had filed to refrain the NAB from arresting him.
Hamza Shahbaz is being probed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Ramzan Sugar Mills, Saaf Pani and money laundering cases.
