Shehbaz, Hamza seek exemption from court appearance

LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz President, Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz have filed exemption pleas in the accountability court probing them for multiple inquiries.

The accountability court in Lahore is scheduled to resume the hearing of Ramzan Sugar Mills and Ashiana Iqbal Housing Scheme cases today, however, the PML-N leaders are not expected to show up.

The pleas mentioned that Shehbaz was abroad while Hamza was not feeling well, so both of them could not appear before the court for the hearing today.

Shehbaz Sharif is currently in London undergoing a medical examination and had announced that he would return before the Budget session.

On Wednesday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) extended Hamza Shehbaz’ interim bail in three different cases, Ramzan Sugar Mills, Saaf Pani Company and assets beyond known sources of income, till May 22 after he appeared before the bench on expiry of bail.
