Fazl-ur-Rehman sets date for multi-party conference against PTI govt

ISLAMABAD – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) leader, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman announced to host a multi-party conference on June 26.

The conference will host the political leaders of opposition parties at Islamabad to thrash out a joint strategy for future course-of-action against the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

Fazl has convened the APC after consultation with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Geo News reported.

Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party Chief, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are also expected to attend the conference.

The opposition parties are likely to brainstorm the ouster of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani besides the budget as well as to ramp up pressure on the incumbent government regarding a recent wave of arrests.

The decision to host multi-party conference was made during an Iftar dinner hosted by the PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

A few days earlier, Bilawal was hosted by Maryam Nawaz at lunch wherein both discussed the future course of action against the government.
