Enemies toying with Sharif s life, Maryam Nawaz complains

LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader, Maryam Nawaz affirmed that the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was being held captive in the hands of his ‘enemies who are toying with his life’.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Wednesday, the PML-N leader said the hands that Mian sahib is in whether it is the Punjab government or the selected government of the selected prime minister, Mian sahib right now is in the hands of his enemies.

Maryam explained that they [enemies] are not only playing with his life, his health, but said she smells something very sinister and something very dangerous from all this.

The vice president of PML-N demanded that the Al-Azizia verdict against the former premier be revoked citing the video of former accountability court judge, Arshad Malik.

The politician demanded answers for where the case stands and what is to become of the verdict considering the removal of judge Arshad Malik.

Sharif’s Health

The PML-N leader spoke at length about the health of three-time prime minister and said in her meeting with her father last Thursday, the jail doctor presented a report with great hesitation as it was highlighting the condition of the former premier.

Maryam claimed that the report revealed that Sharif’s blood sugar had consistently been on the high side and it had been recommended that he be immediately hospitalised at a medical facility of his choice.

Maryam continued that the docter had no answer to the query that why the report dated July 3 was being shown to him two weeks later.

The PML-N leader said that she had then inquired as to why as a family member, she was not informed that he [Sharif] has angina, his blood pressure is high, his blood sugar is on the rise, and his kidneys are deteriorating.

Maryam contended that even a copy of the said report was not handed over to the Sharif family and a sympathizer from the Punjab government provided it later-wards.

The outspoken PML-N leader continued that the family had not been informed about a medical board constituted for emergencies by the Punjab government adding that hospitalisation and further tests had been “re-emphasised” by doctors.

PM Imran’s US Visit

The PML-N leader also took aim at Prime Minister Imran Khan for his speech at the Capital One Arena wherein he made constant references to the opposition.

Maryam said instead of talking about national and international issues in the US, there were threats being issued that ‘I will put a stop to his food, I will take away his air-conditioning’.
