Absar Alam to become new PEMRA chairman

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Absar Alam has been tipped as the new chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).

NA’s Standing committee on Information and Broadcasting has already interviewed 38 candidates including Islamabad IGP Tahir Alam, Zafar Abbass, Iftikhar Ahmad Mir, sources told Daily Pakistan.

Even Information Secretary Azam Khan, who is going to retire on October 10, had also applied for the post of PEMRA chairman.

However, the committee has found Mr Absar Alam the best person for the job.

Absar Alam is a senior journalist and anchor of Pakistan.
