ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Friday reviewed security situation of the country and agenda for United States (US) visit in a meeting in the federal capital.
The high-level meeting to set agenda for PM’s key visit to Washington was attended by Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Director General ISPR Asim Saleem Bajwa and other senior officials.
Implementation on national action plan (NAP), Afghanistan’s poor security situation and PM’s US visit were among the topics discussed.
The matters holding great importance for Pakistan in the current scenario were also discussed.
The meeting reviewed possibility of exposing India to United State for terror sponsorship in Pakistan.
The PM during his visit to Washington will most probably unmask Indian intelligence agency’s interference largely in Karachi and Balochistan.
PM Nawaz earlier, raised the issue in his speech at United Nations (UN) General Assembly session last month.
His speech largely talked about Kashmir dispute and Indian inflexibility. However, Indian external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj attempted to refute Pakistan’s legitimate concerns and played victim card again.
On the other hand, the PM will make a three-day visit to US from October 20.
Different matters that will be discussed include economic growth and efforts to curb terror acts. Foreign Office (FO) former spokesperson Qazi Khaleelullah has said in a weekly briefing that the visit is scheduled on US president Barack Obama’s invitation.
Owing to the agenda of the visit that involves economic growth, the PM will meet officials of US chamber of commerce and industry.
The leaders of the US and Pakistan will also engage in conversation to enhance bilateral ties in multiple sectors. Trade, education, health and climate change are among the several.
