KARACHI (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s leading cellular service provider companies Mobilink and Warid have announced a merger of their telecom services in Pakistan, the More Mag website reported.
The representatives of both companies have formally signed the agreement.
Official Twitter account of Mobilink Pakistan also made the announcement in a post.
Following the agreement between Pakistan Mobile Communications Limited (Mobilink) and Warid Telecom (Private) Limited (Warid), a pool of 45 million telecom Pakistani users will get a combined entity serving them a high speed mobile network.
Speaking about the deal, Chief Executive Officer of VimpelCom Mr Jean-Yves Charlier said the merger will play a key role in digital development and provision of best-in-class cellular services in Pakistan.
Expressing his gratitude after merger with Mobilink, the Chairman of Dhabi Group, His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, said that both companies will together make largest telecom service providing company in Pakistan. The development will create a value for all the stakeholder of companies and Pakistan, he said.
It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that combined revenue of both companies for the 12 months to September 2015 was USD 1.4 billion.
